Savior On The Cross

 

Jesus carried his heavy cross to Calvary

It was all because of his great love for you and me

Cruel men did mock him and spit in his face

He endured it all because he was taking our place

 

It was our sin that put him on the cross that day

Dying for our sins so we would not have to pay

It was his love that kept him nailed to the tree

So we could be forgiven and in Heaven one day be

 

If he had not paid that tremendous price for us

There would simply be no hope because

It took the blood of the sinless Lamb of God to pay for all

For all the sins of the world since the Adam and Eve fall

 

If we had to pay for our own sins, we would have to go to hell

It is such a horrible place with fire, that it breaks my heart to tell

That is where there is gnashing of teeth and weeping and wailing

But Jesus paid for our sins and his love is unfailing

 

When he suffered on the cross and bled and died

"Truly this was the Son of God" some cried

After that he was in the tomb for three days and then arose

The payment did suffice and eternal life to believers he bestows

 

When I get to heaven I am going to tell Jesus

"Thank you for all you did for me.

I don't deserve to be here

But you saved me mercifully"

 

If you do not know Jesus personally, just trust in his sacrifice for you

Just ask him to be your savior and you can have eternal life too

 

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon he name of the Lord shall be saved.

 

 

Only The Blood Of Jesus

 

Only the blood of Jesus

can wash our sins away

the only thing that can cleanse and purify

and bring a joyful day

 

If Jesus had not shed his blood for us

we would be forever lost

but he did pay the price for our salvation

with his own blood on the cross

 

Only the blood can take a black heart

and make it pure white

to transform a sinner's life

and deliver from our awful plight

 

If not for the blood of the sinless lamb of God,

we could have no peace,

but trusting in that crimson flow

gives freedom from sin and a sweet release

 

Only the blood of Jesus

can make our sins white as snow

When we ask for his mercy

his forgiveness we can know

 

Yes, only the blood, only the blood,

nothing else will do

only the blood of Jesus poured out in love

on Calvary for me and you

 

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

Colossian 1:20 And having made peace through the blood of his cross.

I Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

 

 

Saving Faith

 

It's not how much faith you have

or the size that matters

but the object of your faith

that will save

Is your faith in something you do

or is it in

Christ's sacrifice for you

that he gave

The only faith that can save

a poor lost sinner is the one

that looks to Jesus

on the old rugged cross

Whether from a distance or up close,

it's what you are looking at

that will save your soul

from Hell and eternal loss

 

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Numbers 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that everyone that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
