ZACCHAEUS
There once was a man named Zacchaeus
who heard Jesus was passing by
He was short and couldn't see over the crowd
so climbed up a sycamore tree to get up high
When Jesus passed by the way he looked up at Zacchaeus
and said "Make haste and come down."
Zacchaeus came down right away
and by joyfully receiving Jesus salvation he found
Zacchaeus who was rich in material goods
then gave half of them all to the poor
He found out with having Jesus as his savior
he didn't need them anymore
Jesus saved Zacchaeus and his whole house
on that glorious day
all because he wanted to see Jesus
when he heard he was passing that way
Jesus came to save sinners and the lost to seek out
That is what his leaving heaven to come to earth is all about
Luke 19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down, for today I must abide at your house
19:6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
JESUS LOVED HIS DISCIPLES
Jesus ate the last supper
with his disciples in the upper room
knowing that his death on the cross
and suffering was coming soon
He gave thanks and brake the bread
and gave it to them
and told them to eat it
in remembrance of him
He also took the cup
for them to drink
to remember his shed blood
upon which to think
Jesus loved and cared for his disciples
unto the end
He arose from supper and washed their feet
as a servant friend
John 13:1 Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
ADAM AND EVE
God created the first man, Adam,
out of the dust of the ground
He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
but for Adam there was no helpmate found
So God put Adam into a deep sleep
and made a woman out of a rib of the man
In The Garden of Eden everything was perfect
until they ate the fruit which God had banned
God told Adam and Eve they could eat
from every tree of the garden except one
Then came along the serpent and tempted Eve
and the first sin to enter the world was done
Ever since that day that sin entered the world
everyone has sinned and needs a savior
That is the reason God sent his son to die for us
and only through faith in Christ is salvation's door
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
A LEPER GIVES THANKS
In the bible there is a story
about a leper who gave God the glory
Ten lepers had cried out for mercy
whom Jesus did heal
But only one turned back to give thanks
for this miraculous healing so real
The other nine lepers
just went on their way
they didn't even take the time for thanks
to the Lord to say
I was once a leper too
diseased with sin in my soul
but when I asked Jesus for mercy
he made me whole
Like the one leper
I want to give Jesus thanks
for saving me with his mercy
and pulling me out of sin's ranks
Luke 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God.
17:16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17:17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
JESUS TEMPTED BY THE DEVIL
Jesus was tempted by the devil
forty days and forty nights
He fasted and was very hungry
and gave up all his rights
Satan took him to the top of a very high mountain
to show him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them
and told him he would give him all of it
if he would just bow down and worship him
But Jesus said "Get thee hence, Satan
for we are to serve the Lord God only"
So when the devil had ended his temptation,
he left him and did flee
Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore unto God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
VICTORY OVER THE GIANT
David was just a boy with five stones in his bag
and a sling in his hand
But he knew he could defeat the giant
Because on God's word he did stand
David said to Goliath,
"You come to me with your shield and sword,
but I come to you in the name of
the Great and powerful Lord"
As the giant came toward the little shepherd boy
to mock him and despise him,
David trusted in God
and his faith did not grow dim
The nine foot giant with his armor of brass
came tumbling down with a single stone
and that God does great miracles
is well known
I Samuel 17:49: And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the earth.
MARY AND MARTHA
Martha loved Jesus so much
She labored for him quite a bunch
She wanted everything to be just right
And to be so perfect in his sight
But Mary chose the better way
She wanted to hear what Jesus would say
So she sat at the Dear Savior's feet
And heard his word that was so sweet
May we take time to hear Jesus speak
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak
May we not be too cumbered with trivial things
But listen to Jesus' word and the hope that it brings
Jesus' words will bring comfort to your heart
And guide your course and with his spirit impart
His words are more important than any other thing
Just hide them in you heart and to them cling
Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
JESUS PREACHES IN PARABLES
Jesus walked by the seaside and a multitude of
people gathered round
He got into a boat and preached so everyone
could hear the gospel sound
He spoke to the people in parables and told them
of things to come
He talked about the seed and the sower and how
the bringing forth of fruit did some
He said "He who hath ears to hear let him
hear."
And to those who believed on Him, his Word was
so sweet and dear
The seed that fell on the good ground brought
forth fruit, some a hundredfold
They kept his words in their heart and of His
great salvation to others they told
Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD
Abraham believed God
and it was accounted unto him for righteousness
He staggered not at God's promises,
but believed and them did possess
Believing in God's word,
he had faith God would do what he said
So he followed him completely
wherever he was led
Abraham believed that whatever God promised
he was able also to perform
So he did what God told him to do
and to this world did not conform
By faith Abraham went out of his country,
not knowing where he went
He just listened to God's command
and went where he was sent
Abraham believed God
and was called his friend
He followed God all the way
and had victory in the end
When we have faith in Christ's atonement
we are the children of faithful Abraham,
when by faith our souls are redeemed
by the precious blood of the lamb
Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christs, then are ye Abrahams seed, and heirs according to the promise.
JESUS THE GOOD SHEPHARD
Jesus is the good shepherd
who gave his life for the sheep
Nothing can pluck them out of his hand,
their souls he will always keep
The sheep will listen to his Word
and always hear his voice
They know to follow him and obey
is the wisest choice
They'll not listen to the voice of strangers,
but flee away from them
and follow the good shepherd's leading
and only listen to him
The good shepherd knows his own sheep by name
and leads them in and out
He gives them life more abundant
and guides them through the entire route
John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
LITTLE IS MUCH
Give what you have to Jesus
whether it be little or much
He can multiply it many times over
just like he did the little boy's lunch
If you want to see a miracle
just give to the master everything
He will bless it and use it for his glory
that will make Heaven's joybells ring
Little is much when given to Jesus
as He will make it to flourish
to use it to feed a multitude
and their souls to nouirish
John 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves and two small fishes; but what are they among so man.
