Poems About The Bible

The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible is the Word of God

given by divine verbal inspiration

every jot and tittle found therein

being God's perfect revelation

To understand it, God shines his light on it

to give us illumination

This living book still here today

because of God's preservation

His true and everlasting Word

showing the way of salvation

which when we believe on Christ

does the miracle of regeneration

Psalm 119:130: The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Glorious Riches

Rich treasures and precious jewels

in the bible I find

There is no other book that can bring

such peace of mind

From cover to cover its wonderful truths

speak to me

Wondrous glorious riches that only

the heart can see

The wonderful words of life

the Holy Spirit teaches

searching me inside

and to the depths of my soul reaches

Psalm 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

God's Word

I love God's Word more than fine gold

for it renews me when my heart grows cold

God's word gives me understanding and light

and makes my spirit soar to a new height

Great riches are in the Word of the Lord

It is my strength, my shield and sword

A lamp unto my feet and pathway

Showing new wonders day by day

Sweeter than a honeycomb and so pure

Every word faithful and true to be sure

Meditating on the Word to stay alive

The spiritual food to feed on and thrive

Psalm 119:140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.

I Read It In The Bible

I read it in the bible,

so I know it's true

My lord is full of mercy

and He will see me through

I read it in the bible,

Oh what peace is mine

My Lord will not forsake me

and everything will be fine

I read it in the bible,

Oh what joy beyond compare

My Lord knows all about it

and He will always care

Yes, I read it in the bible,

what comfort fills my soul

My Lord will always love me

and fill my heart to full

Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

A Sound I Love To Hear

A sound that I love to hear

is the pages of the bible being turned

No matter how much you read it,

there's always more to be learned

The Word of the Lord never turns stale,

always fresh in and out of season without fail,

the only thing that can satisfy a hungry soul

with power to sustain spiritual life to over full

God's Word lifts us up when we feel we are falling

with joy of the Holy Spirit speaking and calling

Glorious things in the bible we see

and the greatest of all is "Come unto me."

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

So Thankful

I'm so thankful that I read

God's word while I could

that it is chiseled on my heart

like on a piece of wood

so thankful it is there

when I need it most

all by God's grace and mercy,

nothing have I to boast

I'm so thankful that the Word

is in my heart to stay

Even with a mind that is clouded,

it never goes away

So thankful to have God's presence

in times like these

and as my departure grows nearer,

it is Him I want to please

Psalm 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statures: I will not forget thy word.
